Terms of service

These terms cover your use of Sende. Plain language where possible, because you should be able to read them.

Who you are dealing with

Sende is operated by Huvian Technologies, a business registered in Ghana under the Registration of Business Names Act (registration BN389620425), of House No. 28, Commandos Street, Adenta, Accra · P.O. Box AK 113, Abokobi, Ghana. Reach us at hello@sende.com.gh.

Your account

You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code. Keep access to that number secure: anyone who can receive your codes can send messages and spend your balance. Tell us immediately if you lose control of it.

You may invite other people to your account. Everything they send is charged to your balance and is your responsibility.

What you may send

You are responsible for every message you send and for having the right to message each person on your list. You confirm that the people you upload have agreed to hear from you.

You must not use Sende to send:

  • Messages to people who have not agreed to receive them, or who have opted out
  • Fraud, phishing, or anything designed to deceive the recipient
  • Threats, harassment, or content that is unlawful in Ghana
  • Political or promotional messages outside the hours the networks allow
  • Anything impersonating another person, business, or public body

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and we may be required to hand information to a network operator or regulator investigating a complaint.

Opt-outs

Recipients can stop messages at any time. When someone opts out we record it against their number and skip them on future sends to your account. You must not route around that, and you are not charged for anyone skipped this way.

Credit, pricing and refunds

Your wallet holds Ghana cedis, not a fixed number of messages. The cost of a send is shown before you confirm it, and the message count we quote for a balance is an estimate at the current rate. If the rate changes, existing credit buys a different number of messages.

Credit does not expire. It is not transferable and is not redeemable for cash. You pay only for messages we hand to a network: anything that fails before leaving us is refunded to your balance automatically.

A message longer than 160 characters, or containing emoji, is charged as more than one message. We show that count before you send.

What we do not promise

We hand your messages to Ghanaian network operators. We cannot promise that a particular message arrives, or arrives at a particular time, because delivery depends on the networks and on the recipient's handset being reachable. Delivery reports come from the networks and reflect what they tell us.

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Ghanaian law.

Sender names

A sender name must be approved by the network operators, which typically takes about two weeks and is outside our control. Until it is approved your messages go out under a shared sender name. We may refuse or withdraw a name a network rejects, or one that appears to impersonate someone.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Sende whenever you like. We may close an account that breaks these terms. If we close your account without cause, we refund unused credit.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app before they take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction.
